Kalamaki's wide, sandy beach with its shallow waters (perfect for children) is a natural extension of tha beach of Laganas. The area, being a reproduction site for the Caretta sea-turtle, is under the protection and supervision of the Greek National Marine Park. The turtles come to the beach every summer to lay their eggs.

The beach is easily accessible, as almost every road in Kalamaki leads to it. There are several restaurants and sea sport facilities along the beach, but their operation stops at sunset.

The local market-place is located at the "heart" of Kalamaki area and can provide for every need and every taste.
